Phoenix Landmarks is the focus of this series. Growing up here, I have the same iconic landmarks as most Phoenicians. However, some landmarks have only personal significance to me. The landmarks or the spaces where they were, evoke wistfulness or joy. They take me back to important moments. They are markers of my life.
Manny Burruel often uses subject matter that connects to his past and triggers a nostalgic connection for the viewer. Burruel studied drafting at Phoenix College in the 80s, and art at Glendale Community College in the 90s. He has since shown his work in galleries and museums throughout Arizona.
