Monster Stories explores popular culture, literary characters, mythology and the idea of the “other” in society. 2018 marks the 200th anniversary of the famous novel “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley. This thought provoking story reflects an age old question, who is the real monster? Shelley’s work purposes timeless ethical questions about science, technology culture and empathy. Monster Stories features monster imagery from local and national artists, pop culture toys and memorabilia as well as thoughtful engagement opportunities for all ages.
